J. S. BACH Partita No. 2 in D minor

Solo violin works continue Augustin Hadelich’s residency this season, culminating in J.S. Bach’s D minor Partita with the expressively and technically transcendent Chaconne — considered the “Everest” of violin performance. The Partita is balanced by music of Bach’s contemporary Georg Philipp Telemann, selections from Nicolò Paganini’s brilliant Caprices, and a Bach-inspired solo sonata from 1923 by the Belgian violinist Eugène Ysaÿe, the Sonata No. 5. American composer Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson’s 1979 Blue/s Forms is a work championed by Hadelich in recital.
